Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Criminal Justice Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, this educational course for attorneys will highlight the building blocks that make up a criminal case. Topics will include the basics of a criminal law practice, DUI procedural issues, search and seizure, and handling a juvenile case.
Public Law Day Celebration May 17, 2010, Washington County Courthouse, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Public Law Day Celebration will include a Local Court Admission Ceremony, awards to Law Day contest winners (grades 2-12), and a presentation by David on this year's Law Day theme. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. "Courthouse History" talks are scheduled for the public at 5:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., with the Celebration itself to be held from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. followed by a dessert reception. The Right to Privacy: Modern Life vs. The 4th Amendment April 8, 2010, Washington & Jefferson College, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. In this People's Law School class, sponsored by the Washington County Bar Association, David will examine the 4th Amendment's provision against unlawful searches and seizures in the context of our modern lives: store security monitors, internet providers, cell phone carriers, law enforcement actions, social networking sites, casinos and racetracks, and other every day contacts.
